My name is James. I will celebrate my 17th birthday on Christmas Eve 2001. I have been called a Christmas angel and a miracle boy. A few months ago I wasn't even certain whether I would experience my birthday. I will and I hope to enjoy many more in future.
Until October 2000 my life had been that of a normal healthy boy with lots of ambitions and dreams for the future. Unfortunately, life doesn't always turn out the way it's planned.
14 months ago I was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour. As a result my life has changed. This website is dedicated to all the people who have helped and are still helping me through the difficult times. Thank you for all your support that you have given me.
Perhaps the site also gives hope to people who are or have loved ones with a similar condition to mine. Through my experiences over the last year I learned that nothing is certain in life and that it is vital to stay positive and fight for your dreams.
In April 2001 I was told that I would have a life expectancy between two and six months. I am still alive and happier than ever. Defying all medical predictions I could be classed as a miracle boy. I hope that the fact that I am still alive inspires my family and my friends, as well as my teachers, team mates and anyone who knows of me or heard about me to never stop believing. My life is better and more wonderful because of you.
